The Pelhams: 4th of July weekend...

We had a great time on the 4th weekend as we do every year. We left Thursday night, Andy had the day off Friday, so that was a treat. We were planning on going to Sheldon on Friday and going swimming and then to the celebration and fireworks later that night, but it rained and everything was called off. So, we went and saw Ice Age 3 Dawn of the Dinosaur. WE LOVED IT!! I thought it was by far the best out of all 3 of them! Andy and my Uncle Glen stayed at their house with Morgan and me and the kids, Auntie Kathy, Sami, Kellie, and Grandma and Grandpa Hoppe went to the movie. It was a lot of fun!

Saturday we headed up to my Aunt Nancy and Uncle Denny's house on the Lake for the day. It was a little chilly and it rained in the morning, but by the time we got there around 1, it was done raining and we were able to go out on the boat and the kids got to tube. Boy, I remember those 4th of July's that were chilly and windy, but this was one of the only times we would get to tube, so we did it no matter how cold it was, and now my kids are the same! I love it!!

It was Madison's first time and she laughed hysterically the entire time! Andy and I were rolling with laughter. Morgan enjoyed the boat ride and wanted to ride on that tube, she kept pointing to it when we would stop and switch kids. I should have gotten on with her, but she ended up falling asleep on the boat and then we were ready to go in! We also played Ladder Golf and me and Andy beat my dad and Uncle Denny! We headed over to Okoboji and went to our regular spot to watch fireworks. The kids got to ride on rides thanks to Papa and had a blast! Madison is still talking about how she didn't cry this year on the roller coaster and she went 2 times!! The fireworks, seem to get better every year! We got home late and then headed back to Des Moines on Sunday after we let the kids have fun at the Sanborn pool. What a great weekend!
