National Balloon Classic and THE HEAT!

WOW, it was a scorcher today! After church we stayed inside. It was 95 degrees today with the heat index at 107 degrees! WAY TOO HOT to be outside with little ones!
We went to the National Balloon Classic in Indianola on Friday night. We got to see some of the balloons, and the kids got to go on a bunch of rides and have a ton of fun! The best part was because we got there so late, we didn't have to pay the admission fee!
The Iowa State Fair starts this Thursday and goes until the 17th. We always look forward to it, and my parents usually come down. This year it is just going to be my dad, my mom has tournaments booked at the golf course. We'll miss her, but we will think of her as we are eating our pineapple on a stick or the apple-pie/cream cheese filled deep fried rangoon with powdered sugar! Uncle Steve Hoppe, I'll be thinking of you as I chow down on my corn dog and corn on the cob! Nothing like fair food, it only comes once a year:0)
